Nancy Cantu awarded SPE-GCS Exemplary Award
Congratulations to 91成人视频鈥檚 Nancy Cantu, Health, Environment & Safety Professional, who was recently awarded the Exemplary Award.
Nancy served as Program Chair for the from 2018 through Q1 2020. The HSE & Sustainability Study Group鈥檚 mission is to present relevant technical topics and share best practices, emerging issues and current events for the purposes of education and technical development among peers. As the program chair, Nancy coordinated monthly events such as lunch 鈥榥 learns, educational workshops and student outreaches at the high school and university level. 91成人视频 proudly sponsored this study group, providing the meeting location for these events.
Every month the study group featured different speakers from companies such as Equinor, Shell, ERM, and others to present on technical topics. Some of these event topics included:
- Addressing Logistical Challenges to Safety Performance & Operations Continuity
- Workshop - Building a Safety Culture - How to Inspire, Motivate and Lead Operational Excellence
- Enabling Safer Offshore Energy Operations: Current Advances in Safety and Risk Assessment
- Contractor Life Critical Training and Tracking System Improvements
Nancy joined the 91成人视频 team in August 2006 and is currently an HES Professional for the Permian asset team. In her 14 year career with Marathon, Nancy has held various roles in supporting operations with several key projects and managing operation systems. She holds a bachelor鈥檚 degree in Science in Technology from the University of Houston.
The Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) is an international volunteer nonprofit organization that has many sections all over the world. The Houston-area section, named the Gulf Coast Section, takes pride in being one of the largest and most active of the SPE sections. The SPE Gulf Coast Section (SPE-GCS) was established on December 13, 1935.
The SPE-GCS enhances technical knowledge among our members through local events, promotes camaraderie and networking in our industry, educates and serves the community, and provides scholarships to students entering the oil and gas industry.
